7.0 Tile Impression Molding Project

In this project, I need to impress objects or natural materials into the clay, and use plaster to mold. For this project I made two tiles. The first tile was made completely based on the sketches made last week, using a ruler and knitting needles to make a pattern, and trying to create a texture using a leather wallet.
The following pictures will show me the process of exploring and completing this project. I learned to mold using clay and plaster. Finding the right container is the biggest challenge. Finally, I found that the disposable bakeware is pretty easy to use.
The second picture is the effect of the leather pattern on the clay, but the effect is not very good after the actual plaster is poured. So I made another one.
Based on the previous sketch, press the nails and bullet shells into the clay. Try to use nails and bullet shells to piece together shapes that resemble flowers and bubbles. I want to use the depth of the bullet shell and nails in the clay to create a sense of distance. The brown part in the lower left corner, I put a pendant there; but when I removed the pendant from the clay, I accidentally hit a hole on that. I choose to use bright colors for the flowers, and relatively dark colors for the other parts. It’s a pity that after I finished painting I accidentally dropped these two plaster models to the ground and they both broke. Hope this will not happen next time.
